Our well-traveled and worldly Garrison house clients are modern design enthusiasts, with a special affinity for mid-century vintage modern American designers. Also, they purchased their weekend home based on its proximity to Manitoga, the weekend home and now design center of the iconic designer Russel Wright. As avid collectors of his pottery, we payed homage to the natural colors he used in his works, and their home is a reflection of their love of his design sensibilities.
We designed a custom built-in cabinet to house a majority of their huge pottery collection, and also a custom shelving unit made of walnut and concrete. We took inspiration from passageways at Manitoga, and created custom enclosures in the hallway that are backlit to show off beautiful parchment. Other details include works by local artists and artisans, which elevated the overall design.
