The design inspiration for this project was the super youthful, fun, and spirited family of three girls, a dad in film, and a mom who loves to cook. They wanted their dark, enclosed Tudor-style house to be light filled and playful, while still being sophisticated and modern. They weren’t afraid of color and loved the notion of using natural materials. It was a major renovation where we took down a wall between the kitchen and dining area and added onto the kitchen by 15 feet. We replaced all of the floors and put radiant heat throughout the first floor. On the second floor, we also raised the ceiling in the master bath and added a skylight, new windows, and a new roof pitch.
